The song Adrift by Cranes and the films of David Lynch dealing with parallel worlds like Mulholland Drive were the primary inspiration for this song. I wanted to keep the vocals buoyant but also add a little of a deeper resonance in parts. My favorite thing about the recording is the overall guitar sound, especially in the chorus. The vocals were heavily influenced by Peter Murphy's vocals on the Bauhaus' album Go Away White.
